Project No: E11584
EUROSTARS-2
2017.10.30-2019.10.29 (24mėn)
Summary:
The final target of the project is to obtain an optimised solar field solution and the solar receiver appropriate to it that provide dispatchable solar energy with a sale price between 80 and 100 €/MWh for nominal power between 50 and 150 MWh.
To achieve this, the project will develop the following disruptive products: autonomous heliostat with very high optical quality (0,6 mrad), wireless control network and a high accuracy solar sensor as well as the optimised solar receiver and power system configurations for the different plant sizes.
The appropriate combination of these elements, provide a high performance solar field that will allow a more flexible way to distribute the concentrated solar energy onto the receiver. This softer distribution reduces the thermal peaks in the receiver that limit the receiver thermal gain. So that, a receiver higher efficiency will be achieved while energy spillage is not increased.
Another consequence of the new solar field concept to be developed is that the solar receiver size can be reduced, reducing the thermal losses and cost.
An additional aim is the evaluation and design of 150 MWe solar plants. This kind of plants are not available by now because the too high spillage and atmospheric attenuation of heliostats located far away from the receiver tower. The solution of this project will allow this bigger solar plants owed to its reduced solar field size.
